Since I put out the pellets a couple of weeks ago, nothing has touched them. Yesterday I bought some of the berry flavored stuff, but wanted to get the untouched stuff out of the gravity feeder. I drained about 20# on to the ground. It made a nice tall pile. Last night I have pics of the coons looking at the pile, but this morning the pile was untouched. It must have Kale or Tofu in it.

Maybe there’s too much greenery now for them to bother with the protein pellets. But maybe they’ll try the Record Rack berry flavored stuff. Heck, they aren’t even hitting the corn right now.

this time of year protein pellets are barely touched. Way too much spring green up going on, esp in the central and south Texas areas. North Texas is just starting but there is still some good stuff for them to eat and they ignore the protein largely until late June.

When it greens up here in South Texas, the deer only want those "greens." I won't start feeding pellets or cotton seed till early summer or if it starts to get dry. But I did put out mineral blocks around the water holes and the water guzzlers around our ranch. Now is the time to put out minerals.

We put out a little protein in January and nothing touched it. We filled it all the way up in February and nothing touched it till the second half of the month. Now the deer, even with all the browse, are hitting the pellets every day.

I just bought a protein feeder and filled with corn/soybean mix and protein pellets a month ago. Not a single deer has come to it, yet they come to the corn feeder (50 yards away) everyday. Is that normal? This is my first time feeding protein, so I'm flying blind.

The cows, raccoons, and hogs all found within the first 3 days
