Are grocery prices dropping a little ?

Maybe it's just us, but our grocery bill seems to have inched down a little from the peak....by no means is it down to the level it was 3 years ago, but anything helps.

Meat has gone up, but canned goods, frozen pizza, soft drinks, and some fresh vegetable seems to have dropped a few percent.

I went to store with wife yesterday. Ribs were on sale, but I saw items that were almost 2x the price from a couple years ago. $5 each for a lb of butter, a gallon of milk, and a loaf of bread. $12 for a jug of laundry soap. WTH
Will visit Costco to see if we can get some relief from HEB prices.

Once prices go up for items other than meat and vegetables, I don't ever recall them going back down.

Not going down that I've noticed. Got a 2 litre bottle of Dr Pepper and it was $2.79. Last week, same store it was $2.59. Before the push upward it was $1.59 for a very long time. I noticed this because I had just bought some the week before.

Grocery stores have forced us to use their "app's" if we want to save money. Gas reward points are given to "offset" high prices.

You really need to "shop" but you can save a little with a little extra work.

The only thing dropping is the size of the product.

Truth. So inflation is way worse than some people realize. Products are more expensive and you get less of it.

Distilled water for my CPAP was $1.09 when the idiot took office, now it's $1.99. Why the heck has distilled water almost doubled.

CPAP juice is $1.39 at WM now. I stopped using my humidifier as much because it uses almost a gallon a night!

Oh, yeah. Milk was going for $5/gal around 2009 and 2010. I haven't priced it lately, but I know it was down to $1.50/gal when I was drinking it around 2013. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll ever see things back to where they were, but I do recall milk dropping, which is why I commented. Granted, the companies were also doing 'fuel surcharges' back then on every little thing. It was nuts.

Prices may have dropped a few pennies on some items. But overall prices are inflated and quantity and/or quality are significantly less.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

No…probably not likely to go down at this point…at least until the sailors quit spending like drunken sailors.

Exactly what are you doing with your CPAP?

I haven't seen anything come down and every week when I go to the store some things I buy have gone up yet again. Cheese, eggs, meat.
