Ese, took off Oct.-late Jan. to focus on hunting, rounding back into it. 4 rounds now under the belt since Oct., striking driver well, TSi3 and Ping 425 LST, both x-flex shafts, Mitsubishi Rogue MSi30, 70g in Ping and Project X, White Evenflow 1100, 75gr in TSi3. Wedge game is rusty and putts not dropping. Iron game coming around considering tough course conditions transitioning from winter. Shooting around 80 on avg.

Went to the driving range last week, meh. Going to upgrade my sticks pdq and take a lesson then start playing right after.

SA couldn't shoot 80 if he quit after 15 holes.

I I wasn't on speaking terms with my driver for a good while. I finally decided to face the demon. I've been swinging it for about 2 weeks and managed to get by Club head speed into the mid teens, occasionally in the twenties. Which is a good 10 to 15 mph jump from what I had been swinging. The guy at Golf Tech suggested I get an extra stiff shaft, I had been playing a Tensai Orange 65 G stiff shaft and followed it with a rogue White 70 G stiff shaft. So I bought a Kai’li White 70g X shaft, now I had already hit 300 balls or so when my new shaft was delivered. Even though my back was stiff and I was tired, I dropped it in and started tinkering with the loft on my G430 Max. It's a 10.5 but I dropped it down to 9°. Launch angle was 14 to 16, head speed lingered around 110 but it cut my backspin by a thousand allowing a slower speed swing to travel farther. The ball carries 280 plus and rolls out 300 plus. I'm going to give my back a rest for a couple of days and then see how far I can really hit it. It does feel like swinging a telephone pole, but my ball doesn't move side to side as much, keep it in a fair way a lot more often.

My mom and dad were avid golfers and so are my sons. Apparently the desire to play skipped a generation in my family.

Man, how do you do it? My lead elbow is hurt, and I tweaked my back...... I'm falling apart.

Does anyone in the Dallas, or Houston area customize clubs? I was looking to customize a putter for the wife.

I repair clubs so I don't see how much different it could be. I built myself a putter once and I built one for a friend for a gift. I have a Facebook page for it as a side gig.

In the process of upgrading all of my clubs (irons & woods) and trying to get some good online opinions/reviews for these clubs.
Every set of clubs that I have considered and did an online research for review/ratings for these clubs automatically get rave reviews confused2 Guessing they all suck up to the clubmakers/manufacturers?

Is there a web site that actually gives honest reviews on golf clubs?

Skinnerback did I use enough questions marks? laugh bolt

Don't read reviews, they're merely advertisements thinly veiled as honest opinions. I use dedicated forums for info like this. The large golf forums (I am not a member of any) let you see the skill and experience level of the posters (if they are honest) by the data in their profile information ... like handicap and years experience.

I would suggest going to get a proper fitting. So many things come into play and we all have different swings. I'm gonna get fitted probably a year and a half after I bought my last set, because my swing has changed to much.
