hopefully no homes lost. Some of that country needed a good winter fire.

Scary. Looking at the satellite loop it looks like the cold front will blow through there shortly. Assuming it will change the wind from west to north.

The map I looked at show some prime quail habitat on fire. I left that area in 82 , quail and pheasant hunting are on a short list of things I miss.

My uncle was one of the few folks up there that had permission to hunt Smokehouse creek . I believe it was owned by the Whittenburg family,
Lots of history there
It was a treat to hunt there

Whatever town the storm chaser is in looks to be in the path. He was in or near Canadian.

My cousin lives between Borger and Fritch, I think they are being asked to evacuate . There is a Carbon black plant , a chemcal plant and
a refinery in danger if that fire keeps moving east, could get really bad

Skellytown, Canadian, Wheeler, Briscoe, and several others evacuating. SW wind spread the fires west to east, and now the cold front slams that wide line with north winds. Horrible, perfect storm. Please pray.

Noticed there are quite a few big fires around Amarillo right now. Is anybody seeing any smoke from them blowing over the Childress area?

My Son attends Clarendon JC, so far so good just lots of smoke from the pictures he has sent. With the cold front coming in could definitely change things. Prayers to all affected, sad for the ranchers and communities in harms way.

Just talked to a good buddy in Canadian, well actually he's at his daughter's place in Canyon due to evacuations. He said he know of at least 30-40 homes that were torched in town, and lots of places lost cattle. They need some prayers up that way for sure.

BREAKING: Texas nuclear weapons facility evacuated, halts operations as wildfires rage through Panhandle. “Pantex has completed its employee accountability process,” the plant said. “All employees have been accounted for and non-essential personnel are no longer on-site.”
