Ran into this yesterday, three times as long as the one Mike did 11 years ago. Lots of history and background here, but he shoots his at the end. As you might expect, there's a fair helping of Texas history in here.

cheers cool video. Thanks for sharing.
Never shot the Paterson. Nor seen the
Patterson tool. For loading, have seen a
type holder for keeping the cylinder steady,
with rammer. Nor seen the primor star.
Nor used a patch between powder & ball.
Instead used crisco oil after seating 454/451 ball.
Have a slight ring of lead whin seating.
Enjoy me black powder slinger pistol & rifles.
Just can't find the Goex powder.

Own the 1851 Remington, the 1860 Colt, &
the New Orleans Ace.
[Linked Image]
Smooth bore. Used a 440 ball from me .45 Kentucky.
Trigger ya had use thumb ta lock whin pulling back hammer .

1860: I always admired that New Orleans Ace. Such a great boot pistol!
Powder Valley and other vendors have plenty of Goex , but you'll want to go in with a couple of friends on a case to split the HazMat fee.

Wait... Goex is back? When did that happen? Anyone in DFW want to go in on some goex to split the hazmat fee?

I had the Pietta version years ago. It was a cool pistol but fragile.
