My son just made all these with a $3 bag of home made corn tortillas from Festa, they are great. I normally like a thinner chip but these are great. Heavy on the salt.

Those are my favorite.

If you want a really good chip have him fry them in a cast iron skillet over an open fire/get a hint of smoke, fresh salsa from the molcajete and get down...

This is how we had tortilla chips as kids. I remember when Doritos first came around, no need to make our own then. I prefer the homemade though.

I like a shot of paprika on them after you fry them.

I don’t like chips unless they are being used to put salsa in my mouth. I HATE salt, on anything, and it’s almost impossible to find chips without salt.

Could you share his recipe?

Just cut some corn tortillas into 4 or 6 pieces, heat some oil in a skillet and put the tortilla pieces in hot oil. Doesn’t take very long, depending on how crunchy you prefer. Season right after removing from skillet.

Those look great. I make them 2-3 times per month. I like putting Fajita seasoning and chili powder on them sometimes and other times just salt.

I mix Fiesta Fajita seasoning and add chili powder in a small bowl and then sprinkle over my chips as soon as I take them out of the oil.

That is exactly what my son made next. I been out of town all week skiing, I walk in yesterday that is the first thing I see is him making a big pile of chips, he just finished. I said is started to make enough for just his nacho's, but got an a roll and decided to cook the whole baf of tortillas. They are really good, filled up 2 big ziplock bags. My son also likes to make all kinds of green/red dipping sauces. He is really an incredible cook, he knows waaaaaay more than me. He is a real student of Mexican cooking, there is probably not a youtube he has not seen, is says the best youtubes you have to google in Spanish. On his day off, he will spend all day in the kitchen cooking, it is fun for him.

I'm seriously thinking about retiring and opening a restaurant with him as my cook for the fun of it, would love to do it in the mountains. I told him step one I want to see his menu.
