Last week I had the opportunity to hunt on a ranch at Tilden that I had not hunted in years. We were hosted by Levi DeLeon with Escondido Hunting. Accompanying us was my friend, Mike Fifer ex CEO of Ruger who I had not hunted with in several years. Deb and I ran into Mike and his wife, Helen at the 75th Anniversary Party for Ruger and Hornady at the Shot Show a few weeks ago and Mike and I planned this hunt.
We had a great time though the wind and the heat slowed us down, killing 8 coyotes in two days. Our goal was to call up a cat for Mike who has killed most every critter but not a bobcat. Unfortunately, we did not get it done so we are already planning next year's hunt.
Levi was a great host and the accommodations on this ranch are second to none. In addition to deer hunts, Escondido Hunting offers turkey, quail, dove, elk, bear and lion in NM and a few exotics on this ranch.
