I have been asked by a female that I grew up with to help her sell her dads guns. He passed away last year and she lives in Granbury. Goal is to get market value or close for the guns. Where should she list them??? Can I list them for her on here??? Should she use a FFL for peace of mind. Antique SXS, 12 guage, 12 guage semi wood stock, 22 LR wood stock, 30-30 lever action, and bolt deer rifle wood stock. I have only seen a picture, but they look quality and stored well.

You could go to Gunbroker and get a value on them. Drop it a little for a quick sale. Maybe list them here.

It comes down to how much effort you want to put in to it. Selling 7-8 guns one at a time by any classifieds is a PITA. If you don’t care how long it takes and you’re looking for a project then have at it. I don’t have time for such endeavors and would sell to a dealer. As for selling them on here I’d check with a mod. I think you’re supposed to be the actual owner but I could be wrong about that.

Is she hot?

If she is, consignment and if she’s not consignment

Going through an FFL will probably result in 45-50 cents on the dollar. Maybe even less.

Honestly she’s better off finding a family member that’ll take em. If she doesn’t really know what she has then she can get swindled

There’s an A&M guy in the classifieds that’s always looking to buy collections.

Oh another place to get prices would be a gun show, although they might not give you the honest price up front but some might offer help.

Her only sibling passed, both parents passed last year. No husband or in laws, one daughter that is not interested.

Only 5 guns? If you want to help her out buy them then resell the ones you don't want.

That guy is a certifiable nut job!

Ramsey, if you can get a list of the guns and prices, I would be happy to post it at the PD here.

Following, my FIL just passed. Looking at doing the same with his guns. Thinking about taking them to 5K firearms, not sure if he buys used or sells on consignment.

I had a run in with him over 25 years ago when I was in the grocery business. We had a limit of 1 on a certain sale item, and he argued with me that it didn`t say "Limit 1" on our sale item in the newspaper or our weekly mailer that has the add in it. I showed him 2 places where it was listed in both of them and he immediately got mad and walked away and gave me the finger, to which I replied to have a nice day and the same to you. He called corporate office the next day and complained. My supervisor called and said I was to call and apologize to him. I told him I would quit before calling him and I never heard another word about it.
