Looks like I’m going to have an islander! Anybody with experience at this college with your kids? Toured it last week, pretty quaint and clean campus.

I have one at TAMU Commerce and it seems more than fine for his needs. They treat him well. Never visited Corpus and my other kid is in TWU,

Pass the gravy.

CC boy here, graduated from there in early 90s as they were transitioning to A&M network from Corpus Christi State University (CCSU). At that time only an upper level campus, juniors/seniors and graduate students. Brother n Law went there in mid 2000s and enjoyed it, laid back environment as most of CC is. Will say outside of beaches, fishing, golfing and some other things, CC can feel a little "slow" at times, not like living in metroplex with tons of activities to do/see, but they are there to study so not all terrible.

We met with Coach Malone twice, one on an official college visit for baseball with my son. I liked the campus a lot. Their baseball field is HUGE. Campus was nice. A little older style campus, but pretty cool being on an island and having a great location near the ocean. I liked it a lot. We bought some swag gear and I'll still wear it some.

The college is not too bad. The same can’t be said for the CC part.

roflmao

There are a few things I miss about Corpus. Beach fishing off PINS and the plethora of good restaurants. Don’t miss the news reports about people being shot within a few blocks of my house and the rampant drug use in the downtown area.

I kinda forgot there was a campus there. USNW 2024 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities ranks it #395-435. 80% acceptance rate, but all in tuition/fees/room/board averages $18k, which is nice.

I enjoyed my time down there. 2009-2011. I thought CC was just big enough to have some options. I do not like big cities though. Spent a lot of time fishing the bay. I would do it again if I had to do it over again.

My son graduated (he transferred after playing football for 2 years) there in 2016 along with his wife. Spent time visiting down there and thought the college experience was good for him there. He (they) have both done well with their careers since graduating in business from there.
