There's a multitude of touristy places. Unless you are on some tight schedule, I would highly recommend driving 41 miles over to Cimarron, New Mexico and eat at the St. James Hotel. Food is great. The drive is beautiful as well. Have a walk around the place. Very historical. https://www.exstjames.com/

My daughter liked Red River brewing. It had a newer type vibe.
Old Tymers makes a big and good pancake.

Had breakfast at Old Tymers. A huge PLUS ONE for the St. James on the south edge of Cimarron. While you wait for your order, it is fun to try to count all the bullet holes in the walls and tin ceiling. If you have ever had anything to do with Scouting, Philmont Ranch headquarters and the National Scout Museum are just four miles beyond. Well worth it just to see the Ernest Thompson Seton paintings.

Our kids always liked Anchovies Pizza on the main drag. There was always a wait.

We go almost every summer and food ain't the reason we go. I've had the worst luck with food and service there. Closest thing to a good meal I ever had in RR was T Bucks Huevos Rancheros for breakfast. Most of the time we bring food or load up at Der Market and cook at the cabin.

Just do not try to learn how to ski there!!!!!! that's where I learned to ski, it was brutal trying to learn on the training slope. Finally just went to the top of an easier slope and was able to learn on the way down.

Ate first time at Texas Red's in the 70's , ate there since in the 90's , and it's still there . I think it burned and they rebuilt it ,
