I need a scope mount for a pre 64 model 70 long action. I had no clue that there were so hard to find. Can anyone help? Prefer a weaver style or solid base.

Nope. I am measuring .670. Don't think that's gonna work.

Ok if I measure center to center I get in the .860’s if I measure inside to inside I get .672 So I guess it depends on how you measured. These fit my 1965 Mod 70 7 Mag

Measurement was not taken by me, but by the owner of the rifle. Anyhow, I THINK we have it figured out and correct parts ordered. (fingers crossed) The rifle is currently shooting patterns instead of groups, so I am getting a solid mount, and gonna put a known scope on it to see if that fixes it. It has one of those screwey Leupold style mounts with the rear set screws currently.

Those style mounts are really good mounts and rings. You just have to know to get the left right close with the screws and then lock them down. Then do the minor adjustments with the scope knobs . That’s what is on several of my rifles and I have never had any problems with them.
