Have you been much?

Traveling Idaho some this week on business. Definitely on our long summer full time RV itinerary in the future. There’s a couple of places I’ll probably volunteer at national park visitors center.

Drove through all of it in August. Beautiful country and I wanna hunt there. August was hot so I did not stay long!!! Go to Ruby Ridge land if you are interested in the Weaver story. Way off the beaten path, and a tragic end for his family trying to homestead away from it all.

I've hunted in Frank Church. Magnificent place. I'll keep going.

Dinner tonight in Idaho Falls. Blown away by awesome but simple sushi and excellent beer.

Owner is a Japanese descendant lady.

Been many times. Wife’s father lives in Boise. Beautiful country. Love the area around McCall/Lake Payette. Sun Valley is also awesome. Blank on this forum is a wealth of ID knowledge.. lives up near Idaho Fall I believe.

Ever thought about being a campground host for the USFS?
I believe each campground in the national forest has a host that stays most of the summer.

Might be some weather coming in tomorrow, we're getting snow on Friday.
Travel safe.

Spend some time up there working with a company in the tater business myself. Pretty country, but has a similar problem to Texas -- getting overrun by Cali and not much appreciated.

Take a US Dept of Energy Idaho National Laboratory tour. You won't get access to the following facility, but it sounds cool as hell.....

"National Security Test Range (NSTR)

Supports testing advanced tools and techniques to ensure
the safety of our war fighters. The dedicated test range and
restricted airspace is uniquely positioned to support a wide
variety of full-scale and practical testing opportunities for
the DOE, DOD, NNSA, DHS, and other federal and industrial
collaborators. N&HS expertise at the lab spans ballistics,
explosives and barrier testing, current breaching strategies,
high-performance modeling and simulation capabilities, and
classified program support."

Yes those positions on on volunteer.gov as well.

Will be driving to SLC tomorrow late afternoon and fly back to San Antonio on Friday. Hopefully weather permits.

Almost went to Spokane on a business trip and had planned to spend the last weekend in Coeur d'Alene, unfortunately the trip got cancelled right before I was scheduled to leave bang

It appears that there is so much beautiful land from Boise then heading north and all of Western Montana, its on the list!

American now has two direct flights to Spokane from DFW per day. I’ll be on one next month to visit some family in North Idaho and hopefully ski @ Schweitzer if the snow is still good.

Yes lived in Spokane Valley for about 9 months in 2012. Very beautiful towards the east of Spokane Valley. There is a Restaurant east of Spokane Valley called the white house, amazing if you LOVE garlic. Couir de Lane is also a must see. Be careful on that drive I left there in March and there was a ton of ice on the roads.
