For the bread used to make a true Texas kolache? Have missed them since leaving Texas and they don’t have anything like that here. Thought I would try to make my own. Decent sausages are hard to find here too.

We have one, I have to dig for it, the crazy thing it only makes 7 dozen. The olds tried cutting it down in the past but they never turned out properly.

If you can find it that would be great. I wouldn’t mind putting the rest in the freezer if I could just get a dozen or so. up

I used to make them often (klobasnek's), and yes they freeze well. It's been a long time and I've moved since, I'll see if I can find my bread recipe. It was a really good one.

Thanks Spencer. If you made it, I know it's good!

As all really old recipes go, over time things are missing like what to do once the dough is done rising! But if you were to look at the recipe posted above it’ll all make sense. This recipe is from my wife’s Czech great grandmother from the Shiner area.

When in a pinch, my grandma, who was czech, would sometimes use a hot roll mix in a box. Needless to say, they were always good!

Thanks Wytex. I plan on making both of these this weekend. Ice fishing prevented me from making Herbie's last weekend.
