A buddy of mine had one for 5 or 6 years. His only complaint was the flat windshield. He had to replace 3 or 4 of them and they weren't cheap.

I know a guy that used to drive one (he still may, he moved away). He wears skinny pants and has a man bun.

Older brother had one and hunted South Texas senderos out of it many, many times. Seemed to work well for him, never mentioned much about blind spots and can't recall him ever sticking it in the mud.

Sold many of them new and used. Women loved them and most men abused them. Flat windows and blind spots were the major con's. Gas mileage depends on foot but is not the greatest even with a flat foot. There are some on auto trader that might be worth looking at.

I don’t drive as much as I once did. Once you get on YouTube, more video come.

I did see a special mirror, that fits in the standard casing Provides a wide view for blind spots.
Did hear about windshields.

There were also some reported frame rust issues on early models. We never had any issues on our 2010 model that we noticed.

I'm a Realtor and showed rural property in it. I had a friend and client that must have been 6'6" or better. Being shorter I let him drive and I got in the back. He said he put the FJ on like a coat. If I put a client in the back seat they couldn't see anything. It was like being in the dark. Everyone hated the back seat. I've been in a Jeep Wrangler ever since,

https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/toyota/fj-cruiser/interior#:~:text=But%20the%20rear%20doors%20are,door%20must%20be%20opened%20first

But the rear doors are of the backwards-opening suicide variety and the corresponding front door must be opened first. Your rear passengers will likely roll their eyes unless they're blinded by love, whether it's for you or your truck."

I wouldn't trade my beat up old truck for that.

The FJ cruiser market is fairly limited around DFW. The few they have, I don’t like color or they have an out of state history. Don’t think I would want one from Minnesota. I saw one that I liked, it was 2 WD.
Who the hell would buy a 2WD version.

Why not just buy a 4Runner?

Bought one for my wife in 2008 and it became mine around 2012. Great vehicle and wish I had not sold it. I'm 6'4" and found it to be roomy but did not like the wind noise. Parts are not an issue at all...same engine and drivetrain as 4Runner.

I had a 4Runner for many years. No complaints. I am 6’5, it was a bit cramped.
My Tundra is 10 years old, it’s fine. Crewmax was nice for road trips.

Just looking for something different. Selection is limited. Don’t want anything from up north.

You can buy a vehicle from anywhere in the country and have it shipped for a very reasonable fee. My buddy bought a vehicle in NJ and had it shipped for $700. Or you can fly to the vehicle's location and drive it back. My dad's done that before.

That’s definitely a thing. Read about people in Colorado flying to Houston or Austin and buying them and driving them home, saving thousands.

Many have warned about buying cars from heavy snow areas “rust belt” and rusting frames. No pictures I’ve seen have frame pictures. Lots of warnings about rust, heavy corrosion.

I’m certainly no mechanic and far from it. Would rather see it, inspect it and drive it first.

I think CR is not nearly as good as it was twenty years ago. I personally know five people with 23 or newer tundras and none have had an issue.

It's been more than 20 years since Consumer Reports was relevant. They started downhill in the '80's when they started accepting money for good reviews.

Pass the gravy.

All auto manufacturers are going to have issues and problems, especially with new or updated models. Toyota has done a great job making sure problems and issues are resolved in a timely manner. I’ve owned many and they have never left me stranded on the side of the road.

We still have a subscription to Consumer Reports, though I’ve asked the wife to not renew. The information they provide just isn’t worth much these days. Their methods of measuring the worth of a product now are weighted heavily towards ‘green’. They rated chainsaws recently, and didn’t include a gas version. They push electric cars every issue. What they might recommend as a Best Buy these days will be weighted by factors that people like you and I wouldn’t care about and that don’t matter much to real life use. They were always a bit like that, but you could sort of filter the data and still make a good choice. It’s harder to do that now. The magazine is almost worthless, and I can’t remember the last time we made a purchase decision that was even partially influenced by CR reviews.

I’d buy a new Tundra over any other make if I was to decide to buy a new truck. CR would not be consulted. Only decision would be what color Limited Extended Cab. But, that urge has passed.

I remember growing up in the 80s/90s and most big purchases that my parents made were influenced by what CR rated favorably. Even up until15 years ago, I wouldn't let it influence my buying decision completely, but I would at least read what they had to say. But, there were so many other free reviewers available by then that I hadn't even considered CR since then.

Toyota admits they have had lots of problems with the new Tundra, it isn't something discovered by CR anyway. I love Toyota products like you guys, but I'm able to take the blinders off and look in the real world. The new Tundra has had lots of problems, but I'm sure Toyota will get them lined out. The best Tundra ever made was the early 2000 models with the 4.7L.
