Probably a mistake, but I finally got to a goal in my Fidelity account and Temporarily moved most to MIP II CL 4 managed income fund. Maybe 2 percent interest.

I have a brokerage link, where I just sold stock and would like to put it in CDs for 3-4 years.

Maybe shouldn’t have sold the stock, at 267, it was a goldmine. AXON.

Just holding tight until I figure out what I wanna do.

Thoughts on brokerage link and CDs.

Fidelity has CD's at the best rate I've seen in a while. Roll into 1yr CD's at 5% and give yourself 12 months to get a long term plan together.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

This - I have two CDs with Fidelity at 5%. They also are paying 5% on their money market - you give me 5% with zero risk and I will take it all day long (I am 70 and retired so I do not need nor want to take on risk)

I would park money in a HYSA before a CD or even a money market that pays over 5.

That’s solid advice. I will put a big chunk in 12 month. Until I figure out a better strategy.

That is, if fidelity brokerage link allows it. They should, I could buy any stock I wanted.

CDs are for money you need in the next few years. Long term 5 years and longer keep in the market and ride out the swings

so the difference in a HYSA versus a money market account? From what I see the rates are very similar - curious what the advantage is with the HYSA

There is a HYSA .5 miles from my house if I need a stack of cash fast. My Vanguard money market will take a day or two. I have both

I do 90 treasuries through Fidelity. My last one was 5.4% annual. They are in a non-managed account. I have about 6 of them. Love getting over 5%.

This country is stuck on stupid!

5% is about the same as buying a rent house to rent out the revenue

You get back about $450 per every 100K invested.

My 5% paying was paying only like $430 per month, Not sure how they do interest, but in reality it doesn't turn out like that at least for me it didn't

Yes, and $430x12 months = $5160 a year.

Yep, 5% annually, not monthly.

Dang, I was always wondering why each month was different amount.

You find me something risk free at 5% monthly and I'll be running to the front of the line

Between the breakeven inflation rate and taxes on your interest, your still well behind with 2 percent.
