Seeking someone to appraise a couple’s hundred coins/silver dollars. Trying not to work with a “We buy gold and coins” business whose only interest will be to get their hands on my collection as cheaply as possible. Happy to pay an appraiser for their time.

Anyone know someone they would refer me to? Needs to be in the Waco or DFW/North DFW area.

Thanks for any help!

J.R.

Yeah, me. I've been a coin collector since age 7 or so, and often give estate clients (or other attorneys' clients) my written opinion of value. I'm in the middle of moving my office from Lewisville to Flower Mound, so can't promise to be available for this sooner than Feb 23rd.

My contact information is in my sig line.

How do they charge for that? I have an extensive amount (rolls) of dimes and quarters. I can figure out melt value but not actual numismatic value.

I was collecting coins as a teen in the early 1960’s. When the 1964 clad coins notification came out I started saving silver. I cashed my meager paycheck and got dimes and quarters. Then took them back and did it again. My Whitman folders and rolls are in my gun safe. I have Penny’s, nickels, dimes and quarters.

Don’t need money but also have no interest in the coins. But, I damn sure like money.

I’m curious. Does your hobby include foreign coins and bills? I have a ton from my grandfather’s travels while in the service from approx 1940-1972. Lots of stuff from Korea and Vietnam.

If what you have is 90% or “junk” silver here’s the current pricing

Biscuit, I know the melt values but wondering if there is a number for melt + likely numismatic

Vast majority will only be worth melt. If you are looking for rough numbers you can start here.

I have handled alot of foreign coins & bills (and have quite a few saved), but my knowledge on these is much lower than on US issued coins & bills. As often as not, I have to research the foreign stuff that I get in collections to figure out what they are and value, if any.
