All our PM's disappeared about a month ago, apparently never to return. Is the system back up and working now? Sending and receiving?

It's been working for me. Old messages are lost, but new ones seem to stick around.

I think losing PM's was fallout from getting the Forum speed back.

I wasn't complaining. I just want to know if PM's can be sent and received right now. Thanks.

In the good old days they would just zap “Memes and news stories”
I suppose this was a different issue.
I wonder what gets deleted next?

My PM’s are free so I don’t feel like I’m a customer.

We're not the customers. We're the product.

Do you not consider yourself a "customer" of the USPS since you receive free mail?

Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution makes that a constitutional requirement of the government. I don’t remember anything about the THF in my constitutional training but I did fall asleep during the 13th Amendment.

My Hotmail is also free, if mine and everyone's messages were to be deleted there would be an uproar.
PMs here is not different. I am surprised they it went so easy by the membership here.

Hotmail has one purpose. The purpose of the THF is not the PM system. You should have had a backup if the information in your PM box was so important. And as far as the question about current operation, the best way to find out is to TRY IT.

Pass the gravy.

I did not get bothered by the PMs being removed, it seemed to have been necessary. But the PM system is part of the service offered by the THF, if it is offered, it should work. We see "PM sent" or "send me a PM" all the time. I have used it for many transactions.
I am not upset at the management/moderators, I just think it is part of the deal.
"And as far as the question about current operation" I am not following you there.

I see a discussion, no whining or complaining

I saw some whining and complaining. It stopped when it was pointed out though.

They need to make PMs auto-delete after 30 days as THF policy. The same with "Memes and news stories," really, who is going to read and watch 158 pages of memes and video clips.
If it is free, no one can complain roflmao

No "whining and complaining" but there has to be a way to better communicate from the top.
