I was reading about the Grammys, which I did not watch, and there were folks I never heard of getting awards. It got me to thinking about who I’d really like to see in concert, when they were in their prime (and alive). My list, or what comes to mind right now, would include:

Rolling Stones
Temptations
Bob Dylan
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Bob Seger
Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane
Marty Robbins
Patsy Cline

I want to see Bob Seger real bad. I also want to see Jelly Roll.

I saw Bob Seger on both of his final tours several years ago.

The band that plays at our "contemporary" church service walks out before the sermon and loiters around in the back, trying to act like the Stones. I've heard them play. They're not the Stones. They're not even tolerable...but I digress.

I would see Seger in a heartbeat. One of my musical regrets, never seeing him live. I'm sure we'll see Patsy in heaven. angel

I can think of several but the thought of being in a crowd of people ruins it completely.

Not iconic, but Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen are pretty good together. Will see them every time they are in the neighborhood, eith together or by themselves.

And, kind of random, but one of the best concerts I ever saw…..Tower of Power, in the ‘70’s, at Moody Coliseum.

And Freddie King, at Mother Blues….a long time ago!

Let me add BB King and Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland to my list. Yes, I know they are dead, but we can make allowances on our wish list.

I took a guitar class for my degree plan music requirement at SFA in Nac back in the day. Guitar teacher said he saw Stevie play at Crossroads there in Nac three times. He said the first time, the place was dead as few folks had heard of him. The 2nd time, he said you were doing good to find a spot from which to watch. 3rd time, he said you couldn't even get in the place due to the crowd.

I think he might have also played at the school itself but I cannot confirm.

Absolutely. It was just awesome listening to the story and watching his eyes light up. Mine were probably doing the same. RIP Stevie and Crossroads... frown
