I am going to put some “slime” type stuff in my SXS tires due to mesquite and locust thorns . New tires are not in the budget at the present time, but coming before next hunting season. Which sealant is recommended by the THF brain trust ?

I'm not exactly sure of the name of the maker of the stuff I've used for years on two different vehicles, but it is made in Boyd, Texas and sold to farm stores, tire shops and UTV dealerships. It's red. That's the tell, not green, but red in color. I have drove without worry across cactus, mesquite....you name it and have never had a flat, only had to add a little air a few times after my machine sat for a month. Topped off with 2-3 lbs of air, drove a little to sling the sealant and still going strong.
Edit Found this:Company Introduction Power Sports Puncture Seal Tire Sealant was developed from a demand in the oil field industry. The oil industry needed a sealant that worked well, easy to use and environmentally safe.
Zelco Oil Partners accepted the challenge. Owner and President, Tony Zellers, with over 30 years in the oil and manufacturing field. After the development of Power Sports Puncture Seal, a much larger customer base opened their eyes..
Agriculture, sports recreation, mining, rental equipment, retail, city-county-state, parks and recreation, and golf courses are just a few of them. Our marketing and distribution is handled by a network of stocking/distribution throughout the United States.

I'm a TireJect fan. Thinner than slime and the others so no tire balancing issues but seems to work just as well.

Slime will rot out your wheels. It comes down to how many years are you going to have the wheels. Some places don’t want to fix your flats or change your tires if you’ve slimed them too.

It's been awhile since I bought some, but I bought the stuff the Kubota dealership sold. It may have even been a previous version of the Power Sports stuff listed above. It was a clearish color with little blue beads in the mix. I want to say it was about about $20 a bottle and you used 1 bottle per wheel.

growing up, my dad had a 5 gallon bucket with pump that we used on all our tractors and mowers ... it was the best I have ever seen. It was called the Pink Stuff special tire sealant. I just Google pink tire sealant and found this. Pink Stuff ... looks like can only order online. Amerseal and Gemplers are a couple of other good ones. I raced off road motorcycles for several decades and never had any luck with Slime ... but maybe they have improved the product.

I appreciate all the input guys! Being as I’m only going to have it in these tires for six or so months, I think I’m going to the old school route of Slime 2in1. A gallon with pump is only $30 and what is left over will go in other equipment. Thanks again!

Slime works for most folks and that's what I'm using now. The best stuff I've ever used in the tire business and after is called "Super Seal". It's kinda on the thick side and you need an injector and compressor to put it in, but that stuff straight up works. Used to only be able to buy it by the gallon.
Note to self.....when making an injector don't go cheap and use what materials you have laying around or it might blow up and hit you in the face and blind you with [censored] in your eyes. Finding a water hose to flush your eyes blind on a cold Winter day sucks.

I must be the odd man out, I had one of the various brands eat holes in my ATV rims. Not sure if it was slime or the yellow stuff, maybe a reaction of mixing, who knows. It sure was an expensive fix though.
