Has anyone heard about the new Turkish made, machined aluminum receiver, steel barrel, Winchester 94/22? Supposed to be close, if not identical, to the original but using more economical materials? Video looks identical to the original as I remember it. MSRP $419.

Lots of buzz on it over at Rimfire Central. I would personally prefer a machined billet aluminum receiver over the zinc alloy Henry uses.

My 84 yr old sept Dad sent me a link all excited about it. He bought me a 94/22 when I was 10 and we really enjoyed that rifle. It’s gone by the way of a stupid 20 yr old (me) that forgot it was at a pawn shop. I can’t imagine why I thought $50 bucks would do to fix what ever problem I had as a struggling young man. If I had to do it over again, now 40myears later, I would starve for a week and burned sterno to keep warm before I’d let that rifle go. Oh well.

He’s considering the new one though. I’ll follow this thread for more input and news.

Nope. My lever .22 has blued steel and walnut.

Pass the gravy.

I was interested until I saw a shot show video of it. Finish looked terrible. Barrel looked like it was spray painted flat black. For the same price point I would get the Henry. I have a 9422M and it's really nice with the bluing and checkered wood. This new one looks like a budget pos.

There is absolutely no way it compares to the older 9422. Except it shoots a .22 and has a lever.

Pot metal receiver with a painted facade ... no on that too.
