Ate there at lunch. Since I could never find a Stuffed Flounder on the trip through north Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and western Florida, I saw that Razzoo’s had Stuffed Fish (Tilapia, but close enough). It was pretty good. Service, however, was awful. Ten or 15 minutes after we were seated I had to ask if we actually had a waiter. We did, and she eventually showed up. We ordered side salads and the stuffed fish. Never got the salad. She won’t be retiring on the tip.

When we were back in the car, the wife asked if I could remember the last time we had good service and good food. We were able to remember instances of good service and mediocre food.

Had a flat fixed today at Discount and I'll normally walk next door to Applebee's for a bite to eat while I wait, but the last 2 times the food and service was horrible so I'm done there. Today my youngest & I walked to IHOP instead since it's been many years since I've ate at one. Man, the food and service was great! We'll be back.

I'm out on the tilapia.

The only think I get there is the stuffed shrimp with dirty rice. As with most chain places, service is hit or miss.

Last time I ate at Razoos was the one in Plano off the Tollroad a long time ago. Had the fried Gator and it was No Bueno.

I ate there one night and met a blonde. 17 years later and she's still around. Most expensive meal ever.

They have excellent wings on Happy Hour in the bar at Burleson location. You have to ask for it but the blue cheese dipping sauce is best I ever had! cheers

Wife and I decided to give Razoo’s another try. Sat down and one of my former tennis kids showed up to take our order. And I got a hug. One of the sweetest cutest girls ever. Going to A&M. Has a boyfriend and almost a degree.

So…back on topic. I had the red beans and rice and sausage, and the wife had the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. Excellent food.

I used to frequent the original back when it was the only Razzoo's. I ate there so often, that my wife got a job there as a matter of fact. (She has long since been my ex-wife, but that is another story) Both the food and the service was much, much better back then. The few times that I have been back recently, the food has been fairly good, but nothing like it was back then.

The wife and I used to live in New Orleans. Red beans and rice are the real deal there, as is Chicken and sausage gumbo. Moved to Houston, where the Magnolia Grill on Richmond made those two dishes just like in New Orleans. Only place I ever found in Houston that could do it. Lots of places make those two dishes in Texas, but very few do it well. Razoos did both very well. Admittedly, my youngest brother’s wife, from New Orleans, is the absolute best on Red beans and rice, but Razoos was pretty good.

It’s all subjective, and I’m comparing the dishes with favorites from the past. Other folks may have very different opinions.

Razoos surprised me. We’ll go back.

I wish we had ANY kind of a Cajun restaurant here in Paris.

probably, it's what I remember from my only visit to the one in Lewisville a long time ago, doubt it's still there. I believe it was another of Tillmans chains, same as Landrys, Joes Crap Shack, etc.

I didn’t know Razzoos was part of Tillman Fertita’s chain of restaurants. Landry’s used to be good, but the last couple of times we ate in one, I wasn’t impressed. As for Joe’s Crab Shack, they used to have decent red beans and rice, but took it off the menu. Do they even exist any more? We were in the Joe’s near the DFW airport, and I ordered stuffed shrimp. The shrimp were delivered with no stuffing at all - just basically fried shrimp. I spoke with the manager to ask what part of this was the ‘stuffed’ part. He had no answer. I suggested that he go to a real seafood restaurant and order stuffed shrimp, so he could understand my disappointment. That location closed a couple of years ago. No loss.

Razzoo's is not part of the Tillman brand. It's still run by one of the original investors.

Yes, but only in twelve states. With multiple locations in each state. About 30 stores total.
