Bought a bottle of Decoy Brut Cuvée a while back, wanting to compare it to more expensive options. I like it, as does the wife. She is a champagne fan for sure, which in our younger days was a real fun thing.

There’s a little left in the bottle.

I will only drink it on special occasions when they have a rifle to my head.

My wife says you guys are a bunch of red necks, but she is drunk. grin

She loves champagne, which means I need to get more. She’s redheaded Irish and a fun drunk.

Good champagne can be tasty. I’ve found sometimes people may not like it because they only had the cheap stuff.

The good stuff has gotten crazy expensive since Covid. The great thing about it, and to quote a B movie that I saw a couple years ago...It's never too early for champagne. banana

Now, you gotta keep it to one bottle (per person). Ask me how I know. Sisterdale deer lease on New Year's Eve with the wife, our son (who worked at Seaworld and has a pyrotechnics license), another couple and their daughter. Finest mist I've ever seen falling perfectly. BIG fireworks going off. The women saying they'd had enough. The other guy, a friend of mine who's since passed, was pretty much beer only. And there was a whole 'nother bottle. 'Next day, bouncing around that rock-cursed ranch was challenging. I can still hear their sweet, teenage daughter asking me, as I stood by the back bumper of the Suburban, "Mr._ _ _ _ , was it something you ate?" 'Had a great respect for the bubbly ever since. The only thing I respect more, as in not a drop since college, is Tequila.

My girls (wife, daughters and grand daughter) like Formosa's basically a screw drive using champagne in stead of vodka

Orange juice and champagne is called a mimosa, not a Formosa.

That can be said about a lot of things with some people.

Knew a guy that'd turn down good, German beer. Had to have a Lone Star. Had to stay "in character." 'Didn't do much of anything 'cept tell others what they ought to do.

My wife can rip through some Champagne, her and her buddies crushed this bottle at a party a few months ago. Even though it was the "good stuff" I dont like it. I'll stick to Vodka smile

The Champagne I mentioned is about $20 a bottle. Our favorite is about 3 times that, but not 3 times as good. I bought the bottle of Decoy Brut Cuvée on impulse, figuring they made good wines, so maybe they made good Champagne. They do…

The standard Veuve Clicquot (yellow label) is the everyday champagne. That's about as cheap yet still good as there is. Anything less is for mixing or a toast.

Costco Kirkland Signature champagne is from the Champagne region in France and is very good for the money at $20/bottle. My wife and sister are pretty snobby about champagne and both like it.

A long, long, time ago I got puking drunk on champagne. Now, don’t go near wine or champagne. Occasionally, I’ll get into some DeKuypers fruit brandy or Jack Daniels. I gotta be careful. Long history of alcoholism in my family tree.

Pro tip for those who don't know-anyone can shop Costco's liquor store, you don't have to be a member.
