My oldest took this pig with his new Savage 270. Pig was way bigger than we thought and had decent cutters. Much to his mother’s displeasure, I having a euro mount done. He made a perfect shot, by the pig ran roughly a hundred yards before understanding he was dead. The upside is we got to teach my oldest two grandsons how to blood track. They did a great job following the trail right to the pig. Not sure how much the pig weighed, but he was over 200 for sure.

Next time take a soft measuring tape. Take the heart girth (just behind the front legs) and the distance from the base of the ears to the base of the tail. Supposedly (girth x girth x length) / 400 will give you the weight within 10%.

Outstanding! That euro mount will be pretty cool for a young man to share with his friends.
