Way better prepped than I was the big freeze a few years ago.
That time I had to 'fix' the generator (hadn't run it in 10 years) out in -7 degree temps.
Luckily it was just a rotted fuel line - a 20min job that took 2hrs in those temps!!
I think we're now ready to go about a week (comfortably) without power if needed, this time, and needing no 'refills'.

Ran weed eater for 90 minutes this afternoon, actually broke a sweat. Fed dogs at 5:30 wearing flip flops, should be the last time for the next few days.

Good luck. I know it’s about a 5 week wait for a rental tank here right now. Hopefully a fill will come soon to you.

It’s gotten down to 4 up there and it only takes me about 15 minutes to blow water lines , flush toilet and drain bowl and add windshield washer antifreeze to traps in kitchen and bathroom.

Then to the well house. Shut off water to the pump, drain the pump, pressure tank and drain the pump motor and set up a small electric space heater.

You winterize your traps in Texas?

This is what they do up in yankee land to house they shut down power to

I just went varmint hunting and the animals are starting to move around now that the wind has slowed. It didn’t feel as cold as I thought it would.

I just went up into my attic to walk around, didn't feel too cold either. We have 17 mph north winds now. I guess 2nd cold front is passing?

Gonna go down to the pond around 8 and feed my ducks

I noticed my rabbits ate all the carrots I put out last night, They have been jamming on food the last couple of days

Even if you are not going anywhere, start your vehicle and let it run for a little while. I do mine twice a day late morning & evening.

Just Do Not forget to turn it off after a short while!

Obviously you do not have a wife that is a hoarder and get to use the garage for it's primary purpose bang

I was interested to see that my house is holding the 69F degree setpoint at 17 degrees outside using the central system heat pump only. I have the 4 x 5 kW heat strips locked out. My 3 ton heat pump condensing unit uses 2 kW per hour, compared to 5.3 kW hour for strip heat to provide the same heat.

Now I am curious to see how it does Monday night when the temperature drops.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.
