I wrapped all faucets at home and rent houses. Winterized the house and well house yesterday on my recreational property outside of Bowie

Saving grace may be that Monday is a natl holiday so less traffic to smash up.

Our forecast shows 3 to 4” of snow and .3” of ice, with a low of 10 degrees. The wife and I winterized stuff this morning. The propane tanks, from small to large, are full. I fully expect to lose power at some point, so I have propane heaters for the most important spots that will need heat IF we lose power. And, all the generators are ready, the Generac and the small Hondas.

Maybe it won’t be as bad as I expect, but let’s ice up all the wind farms and coat the solar with ice. Yes, it’ll be bad. Call me a pessimist, but I’m more likely a realist.

Looks like the snow and ice prediction has been drastically reduced, at least for our area. That’s a relief. Just being cold is no big deal, but loss of power always complicates things - which means I’d have get up and go do stuff I don’t want to do.

Monday is the only day that is forecasted to have below freezing temps all day.

It’s nothing like the bad snap we had a few years ago. Fingers crossed but it shouldn’t cause any outages or water loss.

I’ll just make sure my de-icers are in the water troughs and everything has fresh hay.

Spouse took about 4 inches of ice off the water trough yesterday up on the ranch.

We were planning a three-day weekend of quail hunting, but I'm re-evaluating how mad I am at the quail.

19 MPH winds on Sunday and 15 MPH winds on Monday. That puts wind-chill numbers in the negatives on both days.

Maybe I can sneak our to hunt Friday and Saturday, the hold up by the fire Sunday and Monday.

Yep, canceled my hunt for this weekend.

I was going to my ranch to hunt pheasants and cull pronghorn… saw -17 with wind chill. Im staying home.

Mine shows below freezing Sunday night and maybe not back above freezing till Wed. That could be bad!
