Some of these NIL deals should include that the players play in these bowl games. I would be pissed if I shelled out millions and half the players didn’t play….

But, what you are watching with bowls is pretty much the team you will field in 7-8 months. Plus a few starters that will get added.

Georgia took it serious and proved they are a championship caliber team.

Georgia was without its top 2 offensive players and also has 20 who left in the portal. Some were key defensive players.

I have seen some apologists positions prior and this one is right near the top. Put all that in pre-game advertising and see what interest it generates.

I love the idea of getting rid of all the pointless bowl games. 12 team playoff everyone else get on with your life. But BUT the ncaa makes a lot of money off of bowl games. No way they just give it up, I’d assume the sponsor will pressure them to get more tvs turned on to the games.
NCAA is going to adjust some rules and get these bowl games to be a tad more exciting or give it up. The current path does not seem sustainable.

12 team playoff will help. It will make 11 bowl games mean something, opposed to 3.

They still need to make adjustments, which they have not done. PAC champion needs to be removed as auto qualifier.
Plus, the way it is set up. Theoretically you could have Michigan play Ohio State, three weeks in a row.

Got a nephew that is a rabid Florida State fan. He’s really upset that they didn’t make the final 4, and said it’d be good when FS destroys Georgia. Well now,,,that statement needed a wager, so I offered to take Georgia even, for a small amount of $. He insisted that we double the bet. Ok, says I. Well, I want my money, but think I’ll wait a few days before I call him. I don’t think he’ll shoot himself before he pays me.
