Every new year I like to look at the numbers to see how crazy of a year it’s been. When I hired on in 2006 we were about 1.4-1.6milion calls a year. For the year of 2023, we hit 2,466,681 calls for service. Those numbers do not include fire department calls. That an average of 6,758 calls a day.

From midnight to 5:40am we have already answered 2,207 calls.

Job security.

Obviously with the population growth you will should get proportionately more calls, are the 2023 calls basically for the emergencies as compared to 2006 or are you getting a lot of weird new emergency request, or is it just the city has gone to the crapper that bad since 2006?

I never would have guessed that high, you’re right though that job is always secure

Is there a most common call? What would that be? And is there a most common truly stupid call?

Calls are clearly increasing significantly faster than population growth.
