Must admit that Phil Lyne is not your average mature hunter and I know that you don't want to get in a shootout with him. I am trying to get him to take a few photos so that I will know how things are going the first outing he killed nine but forgot to shoot any photos. Change is difficult. Adios, Gary

We septuagenarians can still get it done. Kudos to your buddy Gary.

Phil and his hunting buddy, Mark Smith called up 13 and killed 11. I told you don't get into a gun fight with these older guys, all day time hunting. Phil called me yesterday and said that they had not been able to call a coyote on this ranch in several years even though there was a lot of coyote sign. He said that another hunter had been night hunting it and had them REALLY spoiled. He said the coyotes came a little more cautious than normal, but they still responded. He didn't think that he would have killed but one or two without the FREQ. Adios, Gary

Gary: I have enjoyed your episodes of Carnivore many times as I am also a caller. Two questions: 1. How do I order the FREQ? 2. Can you put me in contact with a Lion/Hound guide in South Texas? Thanks

Go to Freqcalls.com and you can order the FREQ. I would get in touch with Clinto Brown at Brackettville. He hunts SW Texas primarily. Thanks and Adios, Gary

Phil has killed a couple of B&C bucks back before the high fences and supplemental feeding programs. I don't remember him being in the TTHA magazine. Phil was World Champion All Around Cowboy in 1971 and 1972. Walt Disney shot a documentary of the race for the All Around title in 1972 entitled GREAT AMERICAN COWBOY. Phil is considered by most to the be the greatest cowboy of all time and is the ONLY cowboy to win the calf roping and bull riding at the NFR. He is also the best cowboy I have rode with when catching wild cattle in the brush country of South Texas. Phil and I outfitted for deer, elk, predators for many years. Adios, Gary

He's using the cottontail sounds like most everyone else. The cottontail sounds that go ultrasonic are NOT the same sounds as the ones on the conventional e-callers. Adios, Gary

Phil Lyne-----Thought I recognized that name. He and Larry Mahan were competing several years for the All Around Cowboy title. Glad he is doing well. Thanks for the memory trip.
