They are changing their ad modeling, that is taking place now. Seems the highly "revered" commercial extolling the virtues of the young female recruit raised by two maried ladies didn't attract the numbers or type they was hoping fer. Seems they have figured out the need for more southerners and midwest boys. As said, changes have been made in marketing to attract them.

Saw that commercial, it was the softest/gayest thing I’ve seen in a while. Also think it has to do (in part) by the forced injections and the awful care they receive from the VA. Heard the GI bill isn’t what it used to be.

Would YOU want to serve under this administration? Husain Obummer started the decline and pedo Joe is finishing it off. I retired from a good govt job 2 years ago mainly because of the BS that all govt has endured under this POS and his ilk.

Draft yes.
If I had my way it would be compulsory service. Men and women, graduate from high school and off to the military. Flat feet, no problem, you can be a cook, deliver the mail or we have an office job waiting on you.

No draft but military or civic service obligation between 18-28 years old (men & women).
Your choice...mandatory 3 years military service or 4 years civil service. If unfit for military service then 3 years civil service.

Bring back the draft, yes. Too many people don't have any "skin in the game." Most young people have no concept of serving their country or paying their dues to live in the land of milk and honey.
Compulsory service may be even a better idea, but I don't think it would ever happen.

If the brutal truth were told most servicemen/woman that is serving now, and back many years ago served or are serving for their own personal reasons, and pride of country or serving their country is absent or very low on the list of reasons most served/served. Not necessary bad reasons, but entering a military branch for the main purpose to serve your country is just about extinct today.

Doesn't matter, most of them would find a good hiding spot with power for their phones if drafted.

US Military is at its lowest total EVER. no one wants to serve their country anymore.
Do we need to bring the draft back?
I say yes.
Also, all proper aged immigrants will be the first drafted. Just tell them this, it will slow the terrible flow. Even men in the country illegally are required to register for the Selective Service.

USAF 64-68. Don’t regret a minute of it. But that was a different time in the world. Military service was compulsive unless 4F and we knew it was coming.
An awful lot of the me first generation would never make it.

I have a Granddaughter who joined the Navy 4 years ago. She is an E5, now in Houston, as a recruiter. She just re upped for an additional 2 years. She has been to Hawaii, Vietnam, China, Australia and other places in Europe and Asia that I never got to see with the USAF. She has gotten training and experience in a lot of heavy equipment. Also, picked up a lot of college credits. She has really enjoyed it. She says she isn’t going to re up after the 2 year hitch ends. I think she should reconsider getting out. Where else could she put in another 14 years and get a pension for life? But, it’s her life.

Every book about Nam and post Nam military states the same. Not a desirable force. There are a lot of reason for lower military participation. Endless wars that we shouldn’t be fighting. Low pay No patriotic man wants to play gender politics and watch Fred turn himself in to Freeda.

I have a friend who is 33 and served 8 years in the Marines starting when he was 17. He recently tried to re-enlist and was told by the recruiter to not even bother trying because he isn't what they are looking for. At 6'4" and a lean 230lbs with freakishly good eyesight I can't imagine him not fitting back into the Marines. If they are not looking for him or someone like him what exactly are they looking for?

BLK2, that doesn’t make much sense. I am just repeating what was told to me. I suggested trying the Army or Coast Guard.
