Goes with me most places, folds up into a backpack made for a 15” laptop. 8” 300BLK JAKL.

I don’t leave it in my truck though.

That's what I'm talking about. Goes everywhere. Nobody knows what it is and it can be put into service very very fast. If you get enough stuff right you will have first shot hits out to 200 yards (with super ammo) and are still effective at 5 yards.

"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.

Yep. To me, a truck gun is not a pistol. Instead, it’s something that’s harder to conceal, and it’s a backup tool when you need more fire power for different and abnormal use cases from your carry

Gotta be a long gun. AR or a short lever gun, or a pistol caliber carbine would be ok too. AR pistol also sounds good.

Ideally, it’s gonna be the AR 15 though, preferably an SBR with a collapsible stock. About 14” barrel gets plenty of performance. You keep the pistol on you to fight your way back to the truck.

Locked away is fine. The long gun in the truck is not your emergency right damn now gun. It’s the one you fight to get back to.

For better convenience you *could* keep it under the back seat with a cable run through the mag well and out the ejection port, and connected to an eye bolt under the seat by a padlock. That way you can just unlock it whenever you are out and about, and lock it back when you park, or just leave it locked.

Mag pouch strapped to the buttstock.

Same concept as KRoyal. Same reasoning as Big Sam.

I don’t care what the value, please don’t leave it in your vehicle if not locked in a safe.

^ This.

It's irresponsible gun ownership if you leave a firearm in a vehicle not equipped with some type of lock box or safe. Not foolproof by any means but better than nothing. I enjoy the threads where someone posts oh "boohoo me" a thief stole my gun from my truck while stopped for lunch. Yep, the thief is a POS but you made the gun available to them. No sympathy from me. YMMV!

I usually carry a Glock 43. But am about to switch back to 19.

As far as a truck gun. I think kroyal has best setup. 300 blackout with foldable stock.

I don’t know if this guy is popular, I’ve seen him before. But he knows what he’s talking about.
