The Browning 1911-380 can be converted to a 1911-22 by swapping in a 22 slide assembly, slide stop and magazine.
If that gives the OP another option. The .380's are much easier to find and gives you the ability to have .380acp or .22lr on the same frame (convertible).
Actually surprised Browning never offered it this way or a 'package' for it.
