Our county commissioners voted in a tax increase a couple months ago, that offsets the savings from the homestead exemption increase. THe increase they voted in was just below the threshold that would have sent it to the county voters instead of them being able to approve it. Funny how that happened.

If you try to buy a car with cash the dealers get wierd and make you fill out paperwork for the IRS concerning a cash transaction but when you do the samething at the tax office they don't blink an eye. Why?

Property taxes bother me. Why should I have to rent back the property that I own outright from the government? Everyone receives the same services from government or has the potential to so why isn't everyone made to pay the exact same amount in taxes? A simple head tax would the most egalitarian way to collect taxes.

Kind of hard for them to go down when they bump your property's appraised value by 46% over a 2-year period.

Total bill about $800 lower. Land value dang near doubled this year, but thankfully it's ag/wildlife exempt.

Escrow paid mine already ... same as always but I haven't gotten the actual statement. Kinda weird.

Pass the gravy.

Car dealers as long as you don't exceed 10K you don't fill out any paperwork

Same as paying Property Taxes, they have the money counters set up at Tax Office in City Hall in Frisco for Property Tax

People don't receive the same services, Compare Frisco Police and Fire Department with other cities, you get what you pay for

My property taxes went down almost a grand from what I paid last year, but my insurance went up about a grand (even after shopping around and getting a new provider), so......

Sorry your service isnt up to par with the rest of the state. Maybe time to think about moving to a better area.

I paid 38k for a truck and had to fill out the IRS papers. Paid a bit over 20k Monday at the tax office in downtown Dallas and there was no IRS paper work. Printing the receipt was the longest part of the transaction. Both transactions were cash. In the next few weeks I'll go to Collin County to pay property taxes but I don't think the bill is going to eclipse 10K but I'm going to ask them if I have to fill out IRS paperwork if it did eclipse 10K.

I don't know anything about the fire department in Frisco and don't have a frame of reference to judge it by. If theirs is better then maybe they should pay a surcharge for the excellent service.

Yes, we saw a good reduction. I froze my taxes at $4,800 when I hit 65, which was 5 years ago. Without the freeze, my taxes would be around $10,300 now. Since the proposition passed, my new tax bill is $3,600 and I believe that it has become the new freeze amount.

I don't like high property taxes but I am quite comfortable with the services provided out here in Henderson County. My address is the town of Eustace (population 1,100) but I live about 7 miles out of town.

This part is the BS they pull on us. We need to do what California does and value a property at what you paid for it for as long as you own it.

Oh man! They would be losing a whole lot of money!

After owning it a year, I paid $140.

Now I owe $6500.

Got our 2023 statement today. Only $200 less than last year, big whoop. Good thing I only had to travel 1 mile to vote for a tax reduction. Typical politics, lower or keep rates and exemptions the same but raise the appraisal values. Been going on forever.

Great surprise, went online to pay last night and the amount had been changed. Now $1200 less than last year, whoop!
Think I’ll wait a few more days to pay.
