Need to check that article and see if that’s the model with the new Stiller Wombat action.

To have a 5lb 6oz rifle one would assume its the 22oz action, but pictures dont look like it.

been waiting for him to release a Anti alternative

That Vandal is on my shortlist to buy. I saw where he recently released a limited number in 308. I think the 22CM is the ticket for all Texas game

Hopefully they'll have a selection to fondle at the DSC convention.

It's what Hornady should've released first (that or the 6)...I had one, took it on one hunt and someone wanted the barrel so I sold it and I've built a new one, just started load work up last Sunday. It's an awesome little round...

Y’all recommend these? Been kicking the idea around of buying one instead of building one

Haven't seen a factory rifle chambered in .22 Creed yet but if factory ammo becomes available, I'm sure rifles will follow,

I bought my boss a Vandal X topped with a VX-6. Bad mammerjammer. I got to sight her in and the Hornady 80 grains held true to their 19" drop at 400 yards. It is LOUD. We put a suppressor on it and it was a complete dream to shoot.

If I hadn't blown my Christmas budget already, Santa would have had an empty sack for everybody EXCEPT Dad. Thinking hard about selling a few safe queens that I don't shoot enough to make space for mine.

This how I roll and the only reason I have nice things. I’d rather sell five I don’t shoot and buy one nice one that I will.

Last time I checked with my local Ace Hardware store in Hewitt, Tx they had sold over a dozen of the Vandals and had reordered more of the new Hornady 22Creedmoor ammo as they had sold the first few cases they had gotten in.

What grain bullet are folks shooting out of this thing?

Hornady is making an 80 grain which is what we were shooting. Great little round.

If you are looking for a little tougher bullet to load in it check the 75gr Swift Sirocco, I have been happy with it in the 22-243.

Dang this thread. I didn’t know I wanted it till I read this. I feel like Buzz is wearing off on me.

Who has one for sale, and where do I find ammo?

70-85 gr is the sweet spot. Hornady offers 80 gr eld-m and eld-x ammo. I have shot 80 gr eld-m, 75-gr eld-m, 77gr LRX, 70gr hammer hunter.

I built a lightweight (6.25 lb) and it’s my favorite round to shoot right now, I need more on game performance to seal the deal. I’ve seen enough to be confident that I won’t be disappointed. I’m shooting 80.5’s and it’s cooking.

It almost makes me question whether I need a 6 any longer.

What’s the consensus — Vandal X or Carbon? Is the 8 oz worth the $400?

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a carbon barrel fluted…doesn’t make much sense. The X does make sense. Wonder about the shoulder and how shots 3 and 4 are with a warm barrel

Yes…$400 for a half pound on a rifle is very much worth it.

But I like the looks of the X rifle better and I’d go that direction for that reason only. 6 months from now you’ll not miss that $400 to have which one you prefer the looks of. Carbon looks good but I’ve always liked Derrick’s wide twisted flutes.

I have been trying to talk BigPig into buying one, maybe you’re inspirational to him and he’ll jump too wink. It would be pretty tough to source the parts for that price. Derrick’s only making money because he’s manufacturing it all. Impressive business model…hat tip.
