A little late but last weekend was fun. Didn't hunt, but made the best of it.

Prime Ribeye's seared quick.

I have family members that only eat their steak well done, and I'm tired of arguing about it.

That looks damn good!! I would like more detail in what you did through the process! I have a FireDisc that I use all the time, but haven't thought of this.

Number 2 Grandson came for the cook, but he wasn't in the mood for any of it. grin

After all the screaming & stuff his Papaw had a few drinks and told God that he was thankful those days were in the past.

Then I made a drunk plate, messy but good. Normally I make the ranchero sauce thicker so not messy & flavor more concentrated in the taco.....this time, we enjoyed that sauce over rice just like a rice & gravy.

Can't wait until these boys get a little bit older.

Thank you Lord for the gift of life.

Steak Ranchero is really simple and really good. Have been eating & making it all of my life. The best tutorial I have seen on-line is from a Valley boy named Arnie Tex. He's very genuine and he lays it out for you. You can use venison backstrap or wild pig loin and also achieve a tender flavor filled taco, but I recommend reducing heat & covering until it's fork tender.

I love anything cooked in a good salsa ranchera. If you're gonna use shrimp though, make sure they get dropped in at the very end (when you're happy with the sauce). They cook fast and add a little moisture, sure you know.
