Got a knee injection this afternoon. First one since January’19. Bird hunting trip in September the knee was barking, even though I was wearing the knee brace. Hoping this helps out through the rest of bird season.

When you get so far gone that Cortisone doesn't work, then it's time for Synovis or another synthetic lubricant. My wife has multiple surgeries and injections, and we are just pushing out surgery for a couple more years

Exactly right. I had years of cortisone (love the stuff) in both knees a couple times per year, followed by the last few years of Synovis. It all quit working, I got new bionic knees in 2017. Haven't had a days worth of pain since PT ended.

Neither cortisone nor rooster comb stuff worked for me. Went ahead and had both replaced and glad to get it behind me.

Arthritis in back, knees, thumbs and legs. On 2 extra strength Tylenols 3 times per day. They help, somewhat.

I look at the needles and the stuff they inject and figure that has to hurt. Some of the worst pain I ever felt was when my surgeon was late and they gave me a nerve block before putting me under.

I had partially torn meniscus years ago. Cortisone shots would relieve the pain for only a month or so. As a last resort to surgery the doctor suggested a series of shots(don't recall the name) that neither he nor the pharmacy stocked. I had to pay for them up front out of pocket so the pharmacy could order them then take them to the doctors office for him to inject. They were $600 per hit back in 2010 and were spaced out something like 6-8 weeks apart. It did the trick.

I don’t watch the needles. It didn’t really hurt, but was a lot of pressure when injecting. It hurt for about 36 hours afterwards. Seems pretty good today. But did get a pretty big pop this morning.

Had that nerve block shot too and it was bad. Had a lot of Cortisone shots in various places over the years but the one in my heel was the most painful.

I have knee pain in my left knee for about 10 years now. It's getting worse, I can't even jog anymore without screaming at me. What type of doctor do I look for in my network to make a visit? I will not go through surgery on my knee, it's not that bad yet. Id prefer an injection if that has good results with maintaining flexibility?

Orthopedic Dr is still your best bet.

I hope you can fine some relief. Put surgery off as long as you can stand it.

Yeah, sure you did. When the pain gets bad enough and cortisone doesn't work, you'll do something about it.

Last shot I took in my knee was 2009 I had an old country doc up in Plano who had knee issues and he would inject me he retired and that was the last time I took a cortisone shot., I started getting shot in 1991 and would need them for sure yearly.

I just got used to the pain and the arthritis and just dealt with it, I do have a very high tolerance for pain.

Main issue was severe bone spurs and very limited ROM of my knee, I couldn't bend it or straighten it
