Good find, I got tired of chasing the Weller Buffalo Trace hype.

Larceny is available everywhere and just as good if not better. History says it was the original Pappy Recipe that was stolen,…hence Larceny name.

I’ll have to try that, it’s available at my neighborhood Specs.

No way I’d spend that kind of money on Bourbon. Thanks to insights from Texaslefty, I am doing much better on finding good sipping whiskey. Due, however, to my neighbor mixing whisky with Diet Coke, I had to acquire some lesser grade stuff for his use when he comes over.

Just me drinking, it’d last a long time. I bought a half gallon of 80 proof Wild Turkey. I like it too. This will last a while, and I can save the Irish Whiskey for me. Ya just can’t mix Tullamore Dew with Diet Coke. It just ain’t right.

I was messing with Big Pig. It was just shy of $500. Broke open the Wheller 12 last night. Eagle Rare is still my favorite.

A long time, but most of this will be given as Christmas gifts.

There will be some happy folks at Christmas.
I can still find Buffalo Trace here and there. I am surprised they haven't gone the way of Weller and only make 750ml bottles.
You are lucky they let you have five bottles of Eagle Rare (good for you up ), most places still seem to be one bottle per customer. The bourbon guy at Specs said they can put out a few cases and it will gone in no time. The first guy that gets one is texting his buddies as he is checking out. The same crew shows up one by one and clears out the rest in 15 minutes.

Nice haul. Seems like I am seeing regular Buffalo Trace a lot more regularly. Wish I could say the same for their other products.

I agree after trying it last night. I’ll take Eagle Rare over it all day long!

My son just picked up a bottle of Chestnut Farms Single Barrel and Blanton's. Haven't tried either one of those so will so how those are once he opens them.

That’s how me and 3 others do it here when we hear about a drop or see it. It’s worked pretty well for us. Our new Specs just opened up last week and has been busy. Word got out they were having a drop last Friday. I got there at 9:55 and about 15th in line. The had Blantons, EH small batch, Weller 12. Person in front of me got the last bottle of 12 and the blantons and EH was gone too. I was one person too late. Which it was no biggie as I have those but wanted to get the 12 for a buddy. Specs is about a mile from my office so I can hit it Wed-Fri when they open as those are their typical drop days. And typically there is never a line at my store when they open. It will be tough though the New Year as everyone will be looking for gifts. I would him them when they open the Wed-Sat of Christmas week. Christmas week was really good here last year.

Does SPECS have a bottle per person limit?

Most stuff yes. Mine will will let you buy all the regular Buffalo and Green Weller you want. Eagle, Blantons and so on is one per. But they will let you take one bottle of each of what they have not you only get to pick one. Though I have seen it at Specs in the past where you can only pick one of the bottles of the whole selection but hasn’t been that way lately.
