I think I really like it. Metal in most places other savages are plastic and a heavier barrel.

I can wait until they come out in 7mm-08. 6.5 PRC's are already available.

I like it a LOT! up

Might get one for myself in 7mm-08.

Daughter has a Savage in 7mm-08 and it is a superbly accurate rifle.

I like everything about that Trail-Hunter.

Seems like a solid piece. And savages are often shooters, but for trail hunting and threaded, seems like they could have selected shorter barrels.

I did Buzz. I really want a Tikka but this Savage caught my eye and the reviews sound really good. If you see anything different let me know.

The Savage Model 110 is the “oldest continuously manufactured bolt action rifle in North America”.

I have about twenty Savage rifles. All of them are incredibly accurate and provide superb quality for the price. Plus, they stand behind their products and are very helpful if you ever need to call them for info about your gun, etc. You simply cannot go wrong with a Savage rifle in my opinion.

Cycling and feeding are why not. CZs are going for cheap these days, btw.

Stick with the Tikka.

Savages cycle like crap and shoot well.

Tikkas cycle well and shoot well.

The last Savage I shot was four days ago.

The man bought it for his son and brought it to me to mount the scope and zero it. I took it out of the box myself. I know the Savage double stroke well from years ago. Yup, happened just like normal. Round comes out of the mag, starts in the chamber and the bolt stops moving forward. Back up the bolt a half inch and go again, then it chambered. I fired three, cooled, three, cooled, two. Cycled like every Savage I've ever handled. Shot pretty good on Winchester ammo.

Dang, that’s a nice rifle. Already threaded and cerakote. I’m going to give that a hard look in 6.5 PRC.

I love Savage rifles. Every one I own, and every one friends own, shoot/feed great. People have different experiences, but I’d absolutely buy one.

People on here love Tikka, and the actions are nice. I bought a Tikka Lite 7mm-08 back when they used to cost about $450 new. It shot ok, but not better than my Savage or Bergara. Now Tikka sells the same rifle for about $800, and if you want a threaded cerakote barrel you’re looking at well over $1,000. I just don’t see any reason to pay double for a Tikka when they make Savage rifles like the one you posted. Not to mention Bergara rifles that offer wayyyy more than a Tikka at the same price.

Plus, when you buy a Savage you get a true short action. Tikka’s are only long actions with a stop in it.

Gone to Texas I’ve never heard of the savages which you speak. They do shoot great, but I’ve never had one that consistently fed without learning the two stroke.

I bought a brand new Stevens 200 in 7mm-08 about 15 years ago, replaced ugly synthetic stock with a beautiful walnut stock and it is one helluva beautiful shooter, the Stevens 200 was discontinued, probably same reason Remington 788 was. I have both and low price tackdrivers.

There are so many Savage models, and I'm sure some lemons are out there. Granted, my savages and friends are higher-end lines, not Axis.

The feeding and ejecting problems are more common than they are not.

And there is no "high end" Savage bolt head, extractor, ejector. They are all the same.

I'm gonna try one in 7MM-08 when I can find one. If not soon enough I may try a 6.5 PRC. Worst thing that could happen is I don't like it... lose money. Midway has the 6.5 PRC for $529.99. I've lost more at the Casino in one night.

Maybe it will feed better with the detachable metal box magazine instead of the plastic one. It also has a metal trigger housing and a Hogue Stock. It also has Tungsten Cerakoted barreled action with a button-rifled medium-heavy barrel that includes a threaded muzzle. It just looks good to me.

Same here, going to try to find one in 7mm-08. Might have to wait awhile....but I like it.

Never had any feeding problems with my Daughter's Savage rifle in 7mm-08 or her .243 before that, but I'm sure some folks do.

Wish it was available in .338 Federal.

I like it. Been shooting Savage rifles for a long time and have a few, none have ever given me any issues used as regular hunting rifles. May have to get one of these....

Wife's Savage Axis 7mm-08 shoots lights out, which is good because she'll never get a chance for a follow-up shot with the feed troubles. My 93r17 will occasionally bad feed.

Nice! When you find one, if you wouldn’t mind doing a range report write up, that would be very helpful. I’m interested to see how it shoots and operates.
