Just curious, not planning on hunting but just wondering if any of the local residents are seening wild pheasant on the back roads..

I have a friend that is a biologist for the state, he said this years roadside count was the lowest ever recorded.

Interesting ... there are 2 Chamber of Commerce(s) that are advertising good bird numbers due to adequate Spring rain and crop production, and an average Summer. They're saying pheasant are up... but they're trying to bring commerce to these small towns from hunters.

I didn't ask where they conduct the roadside counts, I'm sure there's birds where there is adequate food, cover, water.

Our guy up there said don't bother coming up. He's trustworthy.
