Anybody been thru it? We are just devastated with what we are reading about it. Going to be a tough nut to crack. He is my wife's 98 lb baby

Been through it numerous times. It doesn't get any easier. Last one had liver problems. That GS was nothing but love. I sat with him and was a wreck when I left the vet's office in Alpine. Knowing it is a blessing/kindness for the dog doesn't help much.

My daughter has a dog going through this...he is older, so that somewhat lessons the blow.

Oh hell. Love him every day and every minute. It is what he lives for -- and remember that as humans it is our curse, but a dog is blessed by never worrying about what tomorrow will bring.

Sorry you are having to go through this. I breaks me down anytime I have to put one of my companions down and I can only imagine what y'all are going through.

I went through it with one of my GSD's about 8ish years ago. He was also 8years old. It progressed really fast for us. Was extremely difficult to watch. For us the toughest part was that his mind was still sharp as a tack but his body deteriorating so rapidly. The frustration I could see in him was pretty heartbreaking. After about 7 months, I had to make the tough call as his quality of life was nearly non-existent. (it really did a number on me) To this day, he was the best dog I have ever had. The bar was set pretty high from there on out. I'll be praying for you and your pup.

cherrish the time you have. my gsd had to be put down a few weeks ago, she had a tumor we didnt know aobut on her spine. within days she couldnt walk anymore. I hop eyou get to enjoy many more days with yours.

Sorry to hear your pup is sick. We have old dogs and we count every day with them as a blessing. Sure wish there was a good treatment for what yours has.

Helping my 14 y/o GSP walk around the house breaks my heart everyday. Been a best friend for a long time. You're in my prayers. They know you love them and appreciate it. Enjoy them while you got 'em.
