If you are old enough for AARP, The Hartford has been the cheapest for me. Compared to Texas Farm bureau (I had TFB for decades) The Hartford was a little more than half of what TFB was charging.

My mom was with State Farm for 43 years, got carjacked at gunpoint and they totaled the car. It took over 60 days to settle and we had to push them hard to finish. Only claim was a one year old subaru with 6,000 miles. They should have wrote a check the first day. Like a good neighbor NAH they can go ::::: themselves.

My elderly neighbors have State Farm, their car got totaled in a wreck. The other person ran a Red light and admitted to the police she was on her cell phone and did not see the light.
They have like a 2017 Hyundai Sonata or Elantra that was in great shape, low, miles. State Farm offered them $10,000, I told them that sounded low and to look at NADA & Edmunds for retail value.
Turns out retail value is $14,000, they have State Farm up to $13,000 now and it has been over 6 weeks since the wreck.

We had State Farm and they were great about paying claims, they just got way to high so we switched to USAA about 20 + years ago, probably paying to much now too but thats life in the Metro Mess

They have mine.
Call your agent every time you renew and ask for his quote.
If you don’t shop it they overcharge.

currently have farmers, the price is getting pretty high. I got a quote from Gosehead and the coverages increased and the price dropped a little. Never had a vehicle claim but farmers is just snowballing

Get a quote from Amica wjile you're at it.

We had Farm Bureau for over 20 years and Amica beat by 1/3rd at least, much more coverage as well.

Doubt you can beat FB's customer service and claims pricessing though

I trust my broker. He shops for us each year and goes over all of the options, coverage with all the details that matter as well as the prices. In the 8 years I have used him, he has never steered us wrong. The kicker for us is homeowners insurance. Due to my location and risk of wildfire, most insurers don't want to even touch us.

Lady ran a stop sign and totalled my truck due to frame damage. NEVER accept an insurance company's first or even 2nd or 3rd offer. Do your own research on what your vehicle is worth. I turned down several offers from her insurance company. They were paying for my rental so they had some incentive to settle with me. My BIL was an adjuster at one time and told me to think about going to a chiropractor and mention that to them. I tboned her and did have some soreness in my chest from the seat belt.

This showed up on my feed. Reading some of their claims it seems all the insurance companies will short you if you let them. They charge a flat $600 fee to negotiate for you.
