Possibly the laziest performance from Joaquin phoenix I’ve ever seen.

No idea if it’s historically accurate but it was a dud.

Just an odd movie.

Napoleon is portrayed as a simp.

I'm going to watch it. Napoleon was a bit "off" in real life on his second time around.

Well that's a bummer. Joaquin was bound to burn out rather quickly anyways. True, tortured artist, in my opinion. The rise and fall of Napoleon is nothing to sneeze at. A lesson for us all. Especially for the kids that don't think Hitler could happen again. The "free Palestine" idiots are a current case in point.

Joaquin was born in 1974 in Puerto Rico when they were still part of the Children of God cult which they left in 1977 and settled in Florida. He is NOT a product of TX. He is a good actor but seems to be a Whack-a-doodle!

Joaquins sister Rain is a product of Crockett Texas. Joaquin spent time in his youth in Crockett Texas.

The family was already moved away from Crockett by the time Joaquin was born. It's really easy to find this info.

Movie was disappointing to me. Not enough on battle strategy and planning. To me, that is a bigger component to his enduring legacy. A lot of brilliant people are weird, so what? Not all brilliant people were great military strategists.

I wouldn't blame Phoenix as much as I would both the script writer and the director. Ridley Scott usually delivers, so this is a bit of a surprise.

Wikipedia and other internet searches bring up no mention of Crockett, TX and Phoenix family, especially Joaquin. How do you know this or where did you see it? Also, I believe Joaquin is a full 3-4 years younger than River so not sure that was even possible given their age differences.

Actually 4.25 years younger, late Oct. 1974 birth year and Aug. 1970 for River. Unless one was held back or entered to school early, they would not have been in HS at same time.

Who plays Uncle Rico in this one?
