Is there a go to guy around dfw? Just needing to have a gas block swapped or some material welded on the current one. My son wants to mount his bayonet but it doesn’t have the correct lug. Thanks for the help in advance

Would not recommend this route at all. Just google JBI Armory and you’ll see why.

Cut the man some slack. Some years back he fell off a ladder right on his head and it caused severe brain trauma. He was in a coma for months. He hasn't been the same since. Him and I go way back and even though he's not technically taking new work he will take work from old clients or friends and I dropped off an SLR 95 with him a week or two ago to get de-banned. When he is able to work he is top notch.

Give Ronnie a call, he's a great guy to work with, and his office is impressive. https://gervasegunsmithing.com/

I dealt with him before any of that and it was still a sh!t show operation. The man knows AKs but is a terrible businessman. I didnt believe the reviews but experienced the sh!t show firsthand.

Dropped an AK with JBI in late November and picked it up today. The work was flawless as usual and I couldn't be happier.

Unfortunately his business liability insurance cost and health issues are forcing him to close his doors permanently soon. I am gathering up all of my lingering projects and am going to have him finish them up before he is gone.

He just turned 55 and doesn't expect to make it to 60. He is a master at his craft and personally I am going to miss him.

I've talked with Jim from JBI multiple times, his shop is in Denton now. He shares a shop with another gun shop. He does great work, as far as how he is, He had been through a lot and you have to understand how he is. I've never had an issue with him, I take his attitude with a grain of salt, and usually make a joke about it. He gets it. Sad news to hear he won't continue into the future. Best wishes to him. He use to have an account on here, but not sure he still uses it.

All I can say is buyer beware. Your chances of having trouble are extremely high with him. He may know a case, but it's not worth all the other headache and problems that you get with dealing with him
