How far south have they moved into Young/Jack county? Are they south of 380 yet? I know there are some pretty healthy populations and figure it is just a matter of time before I start seeing them.

We had a small group on the ranch I hunted that was SE of Snyder on the Scurry/Fisher county line. I'm guessing we were about 30 - 40 miles south of 380. They disappeared when the wind turbines went up.

I think I saw a small group of them off 82 between Seymour and Lubbock last weekend driving out to watch my daughter's team's Volley Ball game. I saw a group of small pigs and thought they looked like Javelina. I brushed it off because I did not think they were that far North. Are they in that area that far North?

We saw them quite often on the Cherry Holmes ranch in Jack co north of 380 in 2001 while working on wells. Had a friend kill one on the Brazos river south of Graham thinking it was a feral hog at night.I thought he was jerking my string but went by his shop and it was a skunk pig

One year travelling down from Wyoming we saw some right on 287 I believe at Iowa Park rest area. Surprised to see them up there and yes they were javelina not feral hogs. Could have been a little further West but I'm remembering them nearer to Wichita Falls than we ever thought they would be, at that time.

We do have them in Wichita County. I have them on camera at my farm.

See javelina around Harrold Tx often. Oklaunion, Electra ,Vernon as well. Shot several up on Red River also.we do have a bag limit. Often you can walk up on them when all conditions are right, but when you got to shoot shoot because they can get an attitude real quick.

They can get an attitude but are dumb as can be, shoot at them and if there’s corn they’ll come back!

Was stalking a small herd of javelinas just north of Raymondville a few years back. They saw or heard me me, but didn’t run. A couple tried to circle around behind me while popping their jaws. That was my first experience with them and I assumed they would run like the feral hogs I was used to. They definitely have attitudes.

Neat animals, not nearly as destructive as hogs.
