Hosting Thanksgiving at home this year and don't know what time to eat. We typically have it at the ranch and eat around 1 so we can make the evening hunt. Won't be a consideration this year. What time do y'all plan on eating on Turkey Day?

We will eat at 2. Ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken. That’s my chores. I set the time.

For the last 10+ years, we do Thanksgiving at my sister's. The listed meal time is always 1:00. Reality puts it closer to two. LOL. My family has always had Thanksgiving as a late lunch meal for as long as I can remember. Even back to when Thanksgiving was at Grandma's house in Pawhuska and I was the little kid they would shoo out of the kitchen. Some of my favorite memories.

For MANY years, we always celebrated Thanksgiving on the Saturday after Thanksgiving because we were always at the Cowboy game.

Currently, I will go to my GF's kids house, they got $$ and have a huge house. 4 grandkids which I treat like mine cuz, I will never have any of my own.

Turkey, ham from Honey Baked, everyone will bring the traditional sides.

No big plans. We'll see what develops. That stuff is determined by the gals.
I'm just thankful to be here to be Thankful.

My bunch works at the community center on Thanksgiving to help feed the less fortunate, so we'll be gathering Wednesday evening. Dead deer chili is on the menu so I hope we have some cooler weather. I'll get up Thanksgiving morning and go hunting.

No set time here ether we'll eat when it's done it's just me the dog & cats and the Ol lady.

No chit. In that situation, I stay away from the kitchen and often away from the house.

We say 1 but it is always 2 before we cut the turkey. That way a couple that is ALWAYS late gets there just in time.

Don't care for turkey very much. We will have chicken with wine, roasted brussells sprouts, oyster dressing, whatever other veggies my wife wants, sweet tater pie. Eat when it is done early afternoon.

Years ago, we too, always had one couple that ran late. Every. Single. Year.
So one year I planned our arrival to be about 30 minutes late, I mean why show up on time and then just sit there waiting for them?

OMG, we started getting calls ten minutes in wanting to know where we were and how long it would take to get there.
That late stuff didn't work for us...lol.

We always eat around 2.

Usually around 1400 for us.

our family Thanksgiving will be on Sunday due to kids/spouses commitment to their in-laws ... shooting for 1:00ish ... getting turkeys in the oven, church & SS and back home, to finish a few more oven dishes once the turkeys come out.

I have hunted wherever we have had Thanksgiving my entire life. That's both's sides of the family. Definitely something to be thankful for lol. Can't imagine eating Thanksgiving Dinner without being able to hunt.

We will eat about Noon. I'm seeing about 30-40 deer a day within 500 yards of where we will eat Turkey.

I'm just the champagne and wine opener. I lose track of the time. I sit down when they tell me to. Lots of folks show up here in suburbia.

We usually eat early around 11:30-12:00. (The home-made yeast rolls get started around 5:00am)

Hunt in the morning. Mrs Smokey does all the cooking and works around hunting in the morning for me. Be home around noon to carve the turkey for Mrs Smokey. Eat around 1. Watch football. Eat some more. Play dominoes. Eat some more. Watch more football. Have more Pie….

Going to wife’s side this year. Tell them 2, most are 2 hours late, guaranteed. Then 1 couple always shows up 3 hours late and empty handed. That’s about the time I’m ready to leave.
