Well we were feeding our golden doodle Victor dog food but with the recall all the stores pulled them off the shelves. What food do y'all recommend we change to? 3 y/o that's very active about 30lbs. Preciate the help!

I switched to Purina Pro Plan Sport 26/16 mix. Price was comparable to the Victor performance I was feeding.

Loyall Chicken and Brown Rice. About $40 a bag. Good ingredients, my dogs do very well on it.

My current Vizsla I recently changed form Pro Plan Sport Puppy to Pro Plan Sport Adult and she loves it. In the past with other dogs I have also used Taste of the Wild and they did well on it. I like to keep them on a rotational diet with a different dry food from time to time, but nothing extreme or on a set schedule. So there were others I have used. I remember my Vizsla Dash noticeably liked Nutrish in his rotation. Merrick grain free was good. Changing dog foods from time to time was something the breeder of my first Vizsla recommended. Google dog rotational diet benefits if your interested in that. Taste of the Wild is made by Diamond and the two might not be much different and probably cheaper, but I have not compared them.

A good website to see what is in different dog foods and compare ratings is https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/dry/all/

My understanding on the Victor is that no dogs got sick on it. Seven people from seven states are believed to have got sick handling it. Mostly children. I personally would have no problem feeding it post recall.

My 17 yo Britt is having trouble with the sudden feed change. Victor has lost my confidence, I had a couple bags of undated feed a month before this recall. I had 2 out of my 4 with issues.

I feed pro plan sport. 30/20 when I start roading or if I’m training, on through February. 26/16 from May on through the heat of summer. Mine will get fat on the 30/20 if I’m not working them pretty hard. They do well on that combination.
