all the taxidermist have some who tans hides, if they don’t do it themselves.

North Texas Tannery did a couple of Axis hides for me a few years ago. Very happy with them.

North Texas Tannery did a couple of Axis hides for me a few years ago. Very happy with them. Yep, did a couple for me and did a fine job.

North Texas Tannery is the go to! BUT DO NOT BE IN A HURRY They are the best and they are also the busiest. I believe my axis took 7 months. He will tell you up front when to expect a call and he was right on the time frame. You can get sooner elsewhere, but you cannot get their quality other places. Look around when you go in there, I was amazed at the number of and types of hides they do.

I’ve never seen a feral hog tanned, other than taxidermy and mounts. I’ll ask if NTT even does them. I’ve got some very interesting pigs on my place this year. One looks like a Dalmatian.

Sweet. Been looking for a place, for a while. I used to have to ship them to Iowa after my regular taxidermist retired.
