Well it that time were I need to buy new arrows before the season get kicked off. I am shooting the predator x weave arrows right now and I really like them but I am thinking about swithcing to the Easton Epics 400 with G5 montec broadheads. Just thought I would see what yalls opinions are. I dont want to spend more that 100 bucks. Here are the epics.

You picked a heck of a set up there. Another to think about is the Carbon Express Maxima...I started shooting them last year and I absolutely love that arrow. You would be looking at about $110.00 a dozen.

Why? That is a lot of money. Go with the Redhead arrows from BPS. They are about $45 a dozen and will work just fine.I have been shooting those for the last 3 years and have never had any problem with them. If you want to spend $100+ on arrows then you pick some good ones.
Let me just say I am not downing those arrow they are good. IMO I would not spend that kind of money on arrows. You can find good qulity arrows for about half the price.

Hey WES I have heard a ton on those carbon fury from red head at bps so I think I might have to look into those. A friend of mine has some epics that he never used and said he would give thime to me for 70.00 so it was something I thought about. I could refleth them with the quick spins so I might look into what WES suggested.

Don't listen to ol' penny pincher!! He's so tight that if he shoved a chunk of coal up his ***, a week later he'd have a diamond!!!! Thank you Ferris! I used redheads until last year. Better arrows fly better and add Ft. per second.

Hey Jason looking forward to this weekend man. I will have to run into bronte with Duane and Wes to do some work on my stands and make sure my feeder is ready. You dont mind me shooting my bow at your place do ya I was going to bring it and my block. My dad sure is ready and so is devon.
I have heard the 2in blazers really add to the fps to but I am not sure if I will loose alot of stability.

Likewise...you are more than welcome to shoot your bow out there. As a matter of fact we have a ladder stand in camp for that exact reason. Also have some 10-12 ft. bow tripods in the pasture you can shoot out of.

Thanks Jason. That will be good pratice shooting out of the stand. I have only shot about 15 arrows out of the stand so I could use more practice. Thanks and we will see you Friday night.

Chalk up another one for the CX Maxima's. I shot them last year and am still doing so. I came from the RedHeads and for the money they are a good arrow for $45 per dozen, but most of them are from .004 to .006 on straightness. The maximas are .0025 and definetly fly better. I got mine for about $90 per dozen.
Hope you find some good-n's

I shoot the Blackhawk Vapor Pro 4000s and love them. I switched from aluminum this year, and was told that my accuracy would suffer. I'm shooting better groups with the Vapors.

Hey, g220 Where did you find the CX Maxima's that cheap? Were they just bare shafts or were they fletched? I paid $72.00 cut and fletched with the 2" blazer vanes for only Six of them.

I don't know what they were, but I shot a couple of dgilberts arrows out of my bow last weekend. I could sure tell the difference. They were much faster out of my bow than my arrows are. They had those 2" Blazer vanes on em. I shoot one of those so called" beginner bisquits" and they preformed exelent. Goin to buy me a dozen ASAP. And gonna get me some of those Luma Knocks too. You wanna talk about something that is high on my need to have list. Those things are awesome.

I shoot Beeman BlackMax Elite 400 grain with 4" vanes.Cut down to 26" and being shot from my Bowtech Tribute at about 310 fps. They claim a .001 straightness and run about $120 a dozen.Very slim, very fast, and might I add very durable.

joedogg,
I got them at Gander Mountain in Corsicana. They were $45 per 6. They just had standard 4" vanes and the guy cut them for free. If you live close, you should check it out.

The bow I bought came with the Maxima Carbon Express Arrows. A half dozen, and for the price I can see why. I do like them, from all the ones I have shot. I am shooting the 250s', which some have said are too light, even for deer. Others have said they are just fine. Some people have told me to step up to the 350s. I know one, thing they sure as heck shoot good. I also heard the Redhead Brand (BPS) are good, and whole lot less.

7mag,
I shoot a 70lb draw with Maxima 250's and I haven't seen any signs that they will be too light. People have told me that I should shoot the 350's, but I'm shooting in the 280's, with a 29" draw with 100gr. tip; they punch hard out to 50yds. I know it's not actual conditions of shooting deer, but I've often needed help pulling my arrows from the 3-D targets as far as 40yds so I know they hit hard. I did, however almost buy some 200's but after test shooting some that were already cut and set, I decided that they were way too light. Not just energy concerns, but I was afraid it would do damage to my risers. They also made for a more noisy shot, but my 250's have done me well.
Just thought I'd pass that along g220

I know this goes against everything else everyone seems to preach but I don't like "light" arrows for hunting. I shoot Carbon Express Terminators (Hunters) They weigh out at about 11.5-12 grains per inch. So would I use them for 3D?, no way! But they punch through deer and hogs (and anything else) like you wouldn't believe.I use 6075's with 5" feathers and 100grain Thunderheads(62#s, 26 inch draw) and have NEVER failed to get a complete pass thru. The wind doesn't effect them as much either. Good Luck. They're about$70-$80 dozen.

Got back from Academy Sporting Goods, earlier this evening. I was very reluctant on what type of arrows to get, as I had asked on here before. I am quite pleased with what I bought. I purchased the Blackhawk Vapors, 4000. The arrows are ready to shoot and all you need is the tips. I was impressed. They shoot as well as the much higher priced Carbon Express. I bought a half dozen for $28.99. I looked at the Academy Gamewinner Brand, I just couldn't gey myself to do it. They looked "cheap" and needed the inserts also. They were 39.99, but for a full dozen. I now have a full dozen of "good arrows". I am tipping them off with Sabre-Titanium, 100 grain Broadheads, from Eastman Outfitters. Wish me luck, as next weekend I hope to take a Ram with this combo. Roy
