Anybody had any experience with this???

My wife's sister's husband was in a Hospice facility and they seemed to take very good care of him. They kept him clean and he seemed comfortable, although he was medicated. A doctor would make regular visits to check vitals and stuff. They even had clergy of your choice come in to pray with the patient and family members. Overall it was a good, positive experience and I have no doubt that the patient would have a comfortable and peaceful passing.

Seven years ago this Dec. I brought my wife home from the hospital on hospice palliative care. Hospice transport her home, provided oxygen, cleaning supplies, bathing, along with clergy. To everyone’s surprise she improved and was eventually removed from hospice and still doesn’t take any medication. Overall the hospice time was great.

I was also informed by hospice that when the time came that I would contact them and they would contact the funeral home. Since the person is under the care of hospice the county judge and police do not need to be contacted which was good to know as I didn’t want all of the commotion at that time.

I’ve known several who were in hospice. Although depressing, it’s a pretty good deal.
