Hey there Whiskey connoisseurs, I have a question that I could use some help with.

I bought a 1978 25 anniversary Corvette in 2005. My wife bought me a Jim Beam Corvette Decanter un-opened for Christmas that year. I sold the car a few years ago and really don't care much about the decanter.

I have seen the unopened ones that have sold for 2200.00 to 2500.00

My question is, Where can I sell this 45 year old decanter full of Jim Bean?

Thanks, Rube

Legally? You can go to an auction house like whiskyauctioneer dot com. But they take a big cut. I've seen folks post on places like NextDoor and FB market place. The post will get flagged but if it's up long enough you'll find someone for a private sale. Or just pass the word like you're doing right now.

Kershen is correct

I would post it on some corvette forums anyway.

Just post you are selling the bottle only, the whiskey (Jim Beam white label) has minimal value anyway.

If you do post it on any facebook page don't use the money sign, they is how they catch people trying to sell stuff that isn't on facebook marketplace.

How dare you speak that way about my beloved white label!

OP, that’s pretty cool. Can you post a picture to share?

I agree that it's one of the cheaper whiskey's, but the empty bottle cars sell for 85.00 to 150.00.

When my wife bought it, I think she paid around 150.00 for it on eBay. We didn't know that it had a unopened bottle in it. I never opened it, because I'm not a whiskey drinker. I guzzeled it as a teenager, (Cream of Kentucky) $6.00 a 5th. don't care about it now.

Most of the older full beams I've seen trade for $150-350. Sure it's worth more to a vette collector but I've never personally seen any of them go for more than that.

This guy knows what he’s talking about. He is one of my sources of knowledge.
