Time change next weekend. On new time what times do you use for morning and afternoon feed times?

6:50am and 4:45pm, those times are early enough but not too early light wise nor too late. Just right at my place

Used to have the morning one go at 6:30am and that was too early with overcast mornings, no moon or light foggy mornings to fully make out antler sizes. When had feeders going around 4:15pm, I still wasn't seeing much until closer to 5pm and later.

Same discussion comes up every year, as well as how those who forget to change the alarm time on their cell phone will wake up to an approaching sunrise Sunday morning.

If you have your feeding time set to relative to sunrise and sunset (which most folks do), all you need do is make a note of the change in feeding time according to your watch. I'm pretty sure the clock on your feeder doesn't know or care if it's one hour off.

7:30 and 4:30 standard time, all year round. Maybe a distant feeder at 4:45p.m., to allow time to get there. Some like changing them, I don't. If you hunt to the very end of the season, you're not gonna be able to see squat in the mornings if it's set at 7:15 or earlier.

I was on a lease once where the guy roared around on his four-wheeler, topping off feed, changing the time when DST ended. He couldn't understand why I was seeing bucks and he wasn't.

A couple of guys invented a feeder timer that adjusted to the different times of sunup and sundown. Pricey. 'Don't think they lasted.

7am and 430pm.

I feed @ 6:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. I adjust the morning feed time weekly when I check my game camera.

7:15 & 4:15

right now most of my feeders go off at 7:30 and 5:20 ... which equates to 6:30 and 4:20 IF I change the clock to real time ... current Sunrise is 7:40 and Sunset 6:30 (approximately) ...

You gotta change the clock, and set your feed times back as well. A mature buck has no respect for a feeder that has the wrong time on it.

Never changed mine; was told years ago, deer know nothing about daylight savings time.

With all humor aside, some tweaking of run times is typically necessary as the hours of daylight grow shorter as the season passes. But even then, it can be easier to use the same clock time and just adjust the feeding time accordingly to a later time in the morning and earlier time in the evening. There’s also the issue of where the feeder is placed so that heavy shade or the lack thereof means the area around the feeder becomes easier or more difficult to see as sunrise and sunset grow later and earlier. The need to adjust run times, refill feeders and make repairs after critters have chewed or clawed their way through feeder components are not something I missed once I stopped using them. Food plots require far less maintenance and are self-adjusting.

If I did change the feeder time lets say tomorrow at 10:00 am, I would roll it back to 9am right?

I currently have it set at 7:30am which is around sunrise and if I don't change time, it would come up about 35 mins after sunrise I bet since 6:55am is new sunrise. I agree that not changing it would probably be fine, I just know I always change it to be around sunrise and always mess it up.

So If I do change feeder clock, I should put it one hour back so it's set on Sunday going forward right? 10am to 9am now?

Spoon, don’t feel the need to apologize for changing the times to what the time actually is. I change mine. I maintain 11 feeders and used to have 25. I check on them with some regularity so I can be ahead of any issues. I’m not gonna do that quick math in my head over and over again every time I open those boxes over the course of the year. Also, if multiple hunters involved you have to communicate to everyone that you don’t use the correct time that the rest of society uses. Just takes a few seconds twice a year-why not?
After time change pm is 4pm and stays that way through season and is about two hours before dark. A lot seem to set them later and I get it but never understood why it hurt to throw a little early for the early crowd.
Morning I set at sunrise and as days shorten I’ll tweak it a little so it never gets closer than about 10 minutes after daylight. Don’t want to set real close to daylight cause some mornings it’s hard to see early.

6:30 and 4:30, mine all are Wi-Fi so I just change them from my sofa… not really; but I should be able to.

Your timer has it's own internal clock so the daylight saving/standard time change has no affect on it. Nothing wrong with changing it a little for the shorter days, but don't do it for the government mandated time change.
